Significant City History

The first building was a log stockade called Fort Visalia.
It was built in 1852 in fear of attack by native Americans.

Visalia was home to the original "The End of the Trail" statue
by James Earle Fraser from 1920 to 1968.

In 1853 Visalia became the county seat of Tulare County
