Today I woke up feeling great. I didn’t get a decent amount of sleep, but I felt like today was going to be a good day. I got up, showered, and did a wake up call for the boys. The day before, my uncle game to visit me! Sadly it was really late so we decided to go out for breakfast! Once everyone was ready, we piled into the cars and headed for the Carriage Inn. It was really good to see my uncle, which explained my good mood. We all chose what we wanted to eat at the buffet and sat down to eat. We chatted for a while and caught up, which was great! When everyone was done eating, we headed back for the hotel. I was really sad to say goodbye, but we gave each other a big hug and parted ways. When we got back to the hotel, everyone was told to get their stuff packed and ready to go. After everything was done, we headed out. One Prius headed straight for Visalia, while the rest of us stayed behind to ride our bikes. I got out to ride my bike and I was not a happy camper. All I say in front of me was hills. After yesterdays meltdown I didn’t want to see another hill again. Yeah right! When I got onto my bike I felt like a turtle. Not only did I have hills, but also to top that off I had a headwind and a crosswind. Not my cup of tea. So at a sluggish pace I started up the hills. It was a pain in the butt! However I wasn’t going to give up! My car had decided that we should do 20 minute sprints, so I knew it wasn’t going to be that bad. We traded off for the next two hours, but it was slow going. When the Penske finally picked us up we were all ready for a break. The weird thing was, when I was in the car I suddenly got really cold. It started to freak me out because I couldn’t warm up no matter what! So I stayed in the car for a while and dozed. When I woke up, my neck hurt so badly! I had fallen asleep with my head bent over, so I was really sore. As I looked around, I realized what a pretty place we were in. We were surrounded my redwood pines and they were simply gorgeous. After, a while I started to get carsick so I went back to sleep. I woke up with a start, because Deanna was patting me to tell me it was my turn to ride. I was still really cold and I didn’t really want to ride, but when I stepped outside I changed my mind. When I looked around I saw the most beautiful rolling green hills I have ever seen in my life! The land was amazing and my ride was smooth sailing. My ride was over before I knew it. From there we all tag teamed until we caught up with the Penske. However, before we did catch up, there was this patch of sweet smelling air. We didn’t figure out what it was, until we started seeing orange trees. Deanna explained that it was the blossoms making the smell. The whole rest of the way we had our windows rolled down. Well, we made it to Visalia and we are at a sweet hotel! Arielle managed to get us free rooms at the Holiday Inn. Score! Well I am going to log out. Ta ta! |
