4-03-08 Get Down and Dirty

We woke up at 7 am and had to pack really fast and eat fast too cause I was first to ride and I overslept and didn’t take care of my wake up call duties.  I was surprised I didn’t get a butt chewing by Gary.   My Dad and I were riding first and everyone else had to wash the cars.  I started out a little slow cause it was my first long ride but then I got a faster pace.  During the ride we sawdead squirrels, a dead cat and a dog that looked bad but also smelled real bad.  I rode for 1.5 hours after starting at 8:00 and covered 18.5 miles.  That is when Jen found us and picked us up so the next rider could go. Then we went to meet our Police escort so we could ride to Athens.  On the way to the Chase Street Elementary School I was going up the hills and breathing the wrong way so I felt like I was having an asthma attack.  The only problem with that is I don’t have asthma.  When we got to the school I did a television news interview and then we helped the kids put the mulch over the trees.  After that we ate lunch and then we left for Atlanta to go to our rooms that the Courtyard by Marriott donated to us.
