3-31-08 Monday

We had to be up early so we could get to our first meeting which was at the high school school at 11:oo.  We biked from the hotel to the school which was fun and then we met everyone. When we got to the school, the mayor gave a presentation and gave us medals.  The school principal and other staff members gave us a tour of their green school.  Then we got in the car and drove to South Boston, Virginia.   We tried riding until we hit a big thunderstorm and then Mr. Thomsen made everyone get off the bikes. It rained really hard and at times we couldn’t see the road.  When we got a call from Drew we went to the store to get some food because Tyrone was cooking.  He made pasta with sausage, bell peppers, and mushrooms.  It was good!  We're staying in these really pretty cabins that are on a lake.  Well maybe it’s a river, but its really big. After dinner Mr Thomsen came over to our room to meet with everyone to go over what we're supposed to do.  My job is to wake people up in the morning, so I'm happy that I got a good job. Then I called my mom and went to bed.
