We went to TC Williams High school in Alexandra, Virginia.  The school in the movie, Remember the Titans. They had about 2,000 students. The school was huge. TC Williams had 3 freaking stories.

TC Williams is a cool green school.  It had a green roof that was designed to catch, filter, and re-use rain water.  The green roof filter comprised of plants, rocks, and sand.  The plants removed the chemicals in the water.  The water was collected in a holding tank and was used to flush toilets.  As well, they had non-flushing urinals to reduce the amount of water used.

The students used the roof plants in some of their classes, like biology, and they had a number of courses that allowed them to be more involved in the environment.

We left Alexandria and started riding but it started raining so hard Thomsen made us get off the bikes.  That was ok with me because it was really wet and I'm still tired from the airplane ride last night.

That evening, we got to camp in Stanton River Park in cabins. Knowing Thomsen, I was expecting hard wood beds to lay a sleeping bag on, no running water, and an outhouse. But the cabin was great.  We had a refrigerator, oven, hot water, real beds, heater, fireplaces and couch. It was like an apartment!

When we got to our cabin we realized we didn’t have our key.  We looked for any unlocked windows to get in but no luck.  We finally went to Tim and Jacob’s cabin to see if they had our key.  We learned they had our key and Ally’s as well.  They took the keys and didn’t tell anyone.  Jerks.  I thought I would  have to break in to get my insulin. I will get them back for that one.  I will get my revenge.

After dinner we had a meeting and Thomsen gave everyone a job to do on the trip.  My job is to make sure all the rooms we stay in (and cabins) are clean when we leave.  I started to go to sleep while he was talking so I might have another job that I don’t know about, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
